It’s almost tattoo time again and I can not wait. With out realising I tend to be a creature of habit because I get the urge to have more tattoos around the same time every year. To be honest, I would be covered in them if they were free but there is only so much I can budget per year for new tattoos. Which is probably best to be honest as it does make me pace myself a bit more, even though sometimes I wish I could be covered in them sooner.
As you’ll know, I got my mermaid sleeve over the course of last year. I had it done in two sessions with Lucille from Scribe in Bournemouth. I think I will always stick with Luc now as she knows my tattoo style and it is also an excuse to go back to Bournemouth each time.
I got my mermaid because, well I have always wanted to be a mermaid, and also because of my love of the sea. Moving away from the coast over to Bristol was bitter sweet, it is an awesome city to live in but I also miss my mermaid lifestyle. She is my fav tattoo so far but I wanted to incorporate my love for the country too. My two most tranquil places to be is either at the beach or on the coast, and in the woodland. So it felt right to merge the two together as they are such big parts of my life. You can watch the video to find out what I am planning next.
I am all for each to their own when it comes to tattoos, but for me, I like to have/find a meaning for my tattoos. They’re like a picture book of my life. Each time I have been tattooed, pin points a certain time in my life. Usually I have had tattoos when big change has or is about to happen, and they are forever reminders of that particular period of my life.
