Quite a Catch

If your a regular reader, you may be expecting some things I love Thursday today, but, to be honest, I have kinda lost interest in it. I do love linking to lots of other blogs I love so I am sure it won’t be gone for long. However I felt like it was becoming a necessity rather than doing it for the love of it, so instead I wanted to share the lovely time I have been having on my little mini break in Mudeford.

Although we were only down in Bournemouth just the weekend before last, it was only a day trip, so I felt the need to have a little break for a few days and spend some time with my grandma. I had a lovely drive down through the country in the sunshine yesterday afternoon, windows down, music up and with Puggy happily perched on the passenger seat absorbing all the country smells.

Grandma had made a lovely home cooked dinner on my arrival, and I was pretty tiered out after the drive and with a full belly, we chilled out having a natter a watched some evening tv. This morning we got up bright and early to head to Fareham near Portsmouth to visit some old friends of grandmas. I used to know Jean and Dennis when I was about 5 when my grandma lived in a chalet opposite them. We spent many a summer frolicking on the beach with them and messing around on the boats in the sea. Today I drove my grandma to go and visit them, it’s only the second time I have seen them in about 20 years.

Jean is 94 and although mentally you wouldn’t think she was any older than my grandma (who I am sure won’t thank me for telling you her age, but is a little under 20 years her junior) unfortunately her body isn’t keeping up with her mind so much. I do love (nice) old people, and have so much time for their stories, reliving old times and it’s nice to see my Grandma enjoying time with friends as she doesn’t get much company.

We had a nice meal at the pub, I went for fish and chips since were at the seaside it would be rude not to! After that, since Puggy had mostly been in his bed in the car for a few hours, I took him for a super long walk along the beach and spent some time taking lots of photos. It has been such a lovely to day and I always enjoy some time getting away from day to day life and having a good old catch up with my favourite grandma. I always miss our time together now I don’t live so close any more. We are a right pair together and we have such a great relationship, of which I am so thankful for.

Your photos are always absolutely stunning! It’s something about the sea air that makes you hungry so fish and chips is completely acceptable!

Those photos are gorgeous Emily – so fresh. They make me miss living by the sea! The colours of those beach huts also make me want to redecorate :-)
