Yay!!! Autumn is here! This is my FAV time of year, I love all the seasons, but I am an autumn rose for sure. Which is completely ironic because for the past three years since I have been pink, I have always felt that the autumnal colour palette just wasn’t for me when it comes to fashion. Although, I do love the changing colours of nature all around, the yellows, oranges and reds and all the hues in between. I am fully embracing October this year, with exciting blog posts each week with autumn and halloween themed outfit posts and features, did you see the first kick it off, my Autumn Allotments?
Last week, my Crown & Glory Glitterati box arrived (more on that tomorrow) and inside it was a blood red whole lotta rosie. I have to be honest when I first saw it, I turned my nose up and dismissed it (it’s all caught on camera in my unboxing video). However, when I was editing the video, I decided I actually quite liked it now that my hair wasn’t so pink any more, and have today, decided to embrace it.
Although I died my hair this morning, and I was actually going for a dark pinky, purple, and it’s a lot lighter than I wanted but it the right tone I was hoping for. I added a bit of Crazy Colour Fire red in to the mix to give the pinky/purple and duskier undertone which I was hoping would give it a more autumnal vibe that would no longer clash with deep reds.
The dress I am wearing is actually one my grandma made for me over three years ago, (whilst I still had red hair) and it is the only red thing I have in my wardrobe, and shamefully, I have never worn it. In actual fact, I could only just about get back in to it, with very little room to move (or breathe!). It was made from some japanese silk fabric I was given when I was in the shop. I love the fabric so much and it has hints of purple and green running through the flowers so the combination with my hair worked really well.
I’m getting all the oldies out today as these Cat boots (similar) I bought two years ago and haven’t worn them for ages, again, brown is another colour that I don’t wear very often but these boots are perfect autumn/winter boots as they are very comfortable and fur lined for extra warmth. My fur trimmed blanket cardigan was from a charity shop last year, although I lived in it last year, it so cosy!
