It has been such a lovely weekend and I am feeling well and truly in the festive spirit. You may have read my weekend post after enjoying an extremely festive day at the Celtic Manor Resort on Saturday with Christmas Afternoon Tea, I had a lovely day. It was then topped of with an evening of Big Bang Xfactor, I love a bit of Big Bang and it always feel particularly festive, Frank Sinatra has to be one of my favs around the christmas season! Then I waited up until nearly midnight for David and Lauren (my bro and his gf) to arrive late after they had finished work and travelled down to Bristol from Wellingborough.
After a late night catching up, we had a lazy morning with bacon and eggs and a slow start to the day, getting ready to head out with the dogs. We went up to Leigh woods again this weekend, it is one of my fav walks in Bristol. We walked for miles and wandered around most of the estate, chatting and giggling away. It makes me so happy to be visited by the family, when we were younger we didn’t always get on, but the older we get the more I really appreciate when I get to see them. I guess it is because we only get to see each other, maybe four or five times a year, we make the most of our time together.
I made a little video of our time out in the woods, and our cheeky stop at The Cottage on the way home, for a real ale and an afternoon snack in the form of the best onion rings in the world! Then we headed home to cook a roast dinner and chill out with Xfactor results. The weekend isn’t over yet either, David and Lauren are staying until later today so were going to head out to Snuff Mills this morning for another long autumn walk.
Did you have a good weekend? Have you been making the most of the autumnal weather?
