Well, I’m officially in my last year as a 20 something, I hit the big 29 yesterday and I have had such a fantastic weekend. It started on Saturday night at our friends farm just outside Bristol. He threw a full weekend farm festival party, mostly to make the most of the Bank holiday weekend but I like to think he threw me a brilliant birthday bash! We sat around the camp fire, explored the farm, drank lots (and lots) of cider, played beer pong, and danced around like loonies till the early hours of the morning.
Needless to say we were all a little hung over, waking up on the morning of my birthday on Sunday. Brad cooked us a lovely breakfast and then handed me a card, the best card in the entire world. A card that enclosed a print out confirmation of flights to NYC in December!! Best present EVER!!! I’ve always wanted to go to New York at Christmas time and I’ve never been to America, or even on any long haul flight so as you can imagine I am super excited and can not wait!!!!
It’s pretty much rained all weekend so we were limited on what we could do during the day but we did have a clear afternoon and decided to try and get in to see Dismaland. However, we didn’t have tickets in advance so we just thought we’d turn up and see what the queue was like. We spoke to the people who had made it (nearly) to the front of the queue, who informed us that they’d be waiting two and half hours already. We were also told there were limited tickets for the day so there was no guarantee we had of got tickets after all the queueing so we decided not to bother. I’m going to see if I can buy tickets online for another day instead.
We still had a lovely afternoon though, my brother James stayed with us for the weekend so him and Brad wondered ahead along Weston promenade together, whilst I dordled behind them, stopping to take photos along the way. We played in the amusements along the grand pier and ate ice creams before heading home to watch The X Factor!!
I’m currently curled up on the sofa after a lovely meal at Jamie’s Italian in Bristol with my family. I’m so full up, I have a Jamie’s gold card so as it was my birthday they gave us a free bottle of Prosecco to share, along with the usual gold card perks of a free taster. In addition to that, they even gave me a birthday brownie to finish on. It was the perfect end to a fantastic birthday weekend!!
