Good Morning Lovelies! I hope you had a good weekend? I spent the weekend up in Edinburgh at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for my best friend’s thirtieth birthday. Brad and I flew up on Friday afternoon to meet the rest of our lovely fringe buddies at the air bnb we’d rented for the weekend. We stayed at The Old Golf house in Dalkieth, which housed all eleven of us, about half an hour from the center of Edinburgh.
The moment we arrived, we said a quick hello to the group, dumped our bags, had a quick change of clothes and jumped in a couple of taxi’s and headed back into town. We went to Kyloe, which was the most amazing steak restaurant. They had a huge selection of local steaks which they presented to us before we all chose our meals. The food was incredible and the wine was even better!
On Saturday we had a couple of shows booked in the afternoon, but first we hopped on the sight seeing bus tour to get a good look of the city. I’ve never been on a bus tour before and it was a great way to take some fab photos and see a lot of the city in the little time we had. The first two shows we had booked were improv, and whilst the rest of the group thoroughly enjoyed them, I felt like i’d left my sense of humour at home because I just did not find them funny. Clearly improv isn’t my thing. Our latest showing was at 11pm and was called amused moose, it was a collective of seven of the best comedians from throughout the fringe festival. I was so pleased that I enjoyed that one and found it LOL funny from the moment the first stand up came on the stage, to the last.
On Sunday, half the group dispersed to get back on the road for their long six hour drive home. The other half of us headed in to town to have more of a wander and see the streets by foot. Although the bus ride was good, it was also nice to explore off the bus route and be able to see some of the free street acts. The vibe of the weekend was amazing, Edinburgh was buzzing full of people with so much to see and take in. The weekend wasn’t really long enough to feel like I’ve seen all of Edinburgh but we gave it a good shot, I’d love to do it again to see more.
Great city, Great company and a Great Weekend. Hope your’s was as colourful!
