Happy Monday my lovers! (said in an exaggerated Bristolian accent!) How are you this fine morning? I am wonderful. I have had a fantastic (slightly over indulgent) weekend and this morning I am back in the zone. I got up early and went for a work out at the gym and came home to film a Youtube video (which, providing my iMovie decides to finally update, will be up later today) all before 9.30. Starting the morning that way, always me feel ahead of the game and in the right frame of mind to start the week.
My fun filled weekend began on Friday evening with a few friends down near Bristol harbour at the Aperol Spritz cocktail bar. I had been working with Aperol to promote the event and couldn’t wait to get down to see it all in full ORANGE swing! The whole day had been a borderline wash out with the rain deciding to set in, but as I arrived in town and made my way across bristol bridge to Anchor square, the sun beamed through the clouds and lit up the Aperol bar in full colour. As I walked closer, I could hear the sound of my playlist blasting from the pop up bar amongst the hive of people starting their evening.
It had to be one of the most perfect brands for me to work with. I love their vibrant branding and they had created a fun and colourful area to enjoy a few drinks in the sunshine. They even had fully branded table tennis, a foozeball table and if you shared a photo with the hashtag #ItStartsNow on social media, your photo came up on their screen which you could get instant prints of. The bar was filled with orange deckchairs and parasols and the Aperol Spritz cocktail was like the sunrise setting in peoples glasses. I had a lovely evening while the sun was still up, but as the summer evening drew in, it got a little chilly, so Kaycie and I finished our evening with some food in Spitfire, over looking the river.
On Saturday, the weather was gorgeous, so I set off on my usual routine, to walk with the dogs, followed by a trip around the carboot. I have lots of photo booth events coming up and I have been collecting lots of new props to refresh the old prop box, as well as picking up lots of newly themed items for the new style photo booth coming soon. I picked up so much stuff and only actually got half way around the masses of stall holders, because it was so big, and I peaked too soon and ran out of allocated budget for the day.
I had a few hours to relax before getting the prop box organised for the wedding, with the photo booth, that evening. It was for a friend, a kindred spirit if you will, a girl after my own heart who had planned a disco circus themed wedding at Larmer Tree Gardens. I created her a sparkly feast of a photo booth prop box, there’ll be more on that soon!
It was our friend Marks birthday yesterday so (like the adults we are now) we had arranged to meet up for a sophisticated brunch at Bocabar. It turned in to an all morning affair which I thoroughly enjoyed. We didn’t rush breakfast, we drank plenty of coffee and before we knew it, it was well after lunch and we needed to go and take the dogs out. We went with friends up to leigh woods for a leisurely stroll around. I had wanted to see the ‘Withdrawn’ art installation up there for a while and I am glad I did. It’s quite strange stumbling across five boats in the woods. I would like to go back of an evening when I can take my camera and get some better photos.
We finished the weekend off with a yummy roast dinner that Brad rustled up and watched the last ever Top Gear in the format we all know and love. A rather busy but thoroughly enjoyable weekend. I hope your was just as good?
