Today will officially be known as the day Christmas began. I have had such a wonderful day, full to the brim of festive goodness, cakes galore and mulled Pimms! I am feeling so festive right now, and it’s all thanks to the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, and their #MyCelticXmas blogger Christmas Afternoon Tea. It may only be mid November, but I am well ready for the festivities to begin, I want to make Christmas last as long as possible this year!
I picked Megan up from Bristol station at mid day and we began our road trip over the bridge to Newport to The Olive Branch restaurant with the huge complex that is the Celtic Manor Resort. We got lost just driving in and finding the entrance. The was a cheerful vibe as we walked in to the grand lobby, to be greeted by India.
India showed us, through the traditionally festive lounge area, to our private Christmas Afternoon Tea room. We joined another eight bloggers, all eagerly waiting to find out what the #mycelticxmas team had in store for us, and boy were we in for a treat!
We were greeted by a team of very attentive hosts, and handed a glass of bubbly on arrival. As soon as we sat down, every single one of us got out our cameras and phones and started snapping away at the poinsettia and holly that lay beautifully along the length of the table. I was instantly thrown in to the magic of Christmas, feeling oh so festive and excitable. There was so much to photograph, I was in my element!
We were served up mulled Pimms in the cutest little glass teapots with their own little jumpers. Then came the cake, ohhhhh the cake! Ohhhhhh ohhhhhohhhhh the cake!!! I can’t even put in to words to tell you HOW nice the cakes were! Just look at those cakes, the photos say it all.
If your looking to get in the festive spirit, why not head over to the Celtic Manor Resort and boom your afternoon tea package with your friends or family. You get soooo much food, I even took home a doggy bag for Brad. If you can’t make it to go and actually taste the yumminess, don’t worry, they have recently launched a new blog with loads of recipes and interactive posts to enjoy.
I have had such a fantastic day, and it really has kicked off the season to be jolly, oh boy am I jolly! Huge thanks to The Celtic Manor for inviting me along . P.s I made a video!!
