Watching the AW14 catwalk at Cribbs on Friday, got me a little perplexed. Although I had a fab time, the colour pallet for the autumn, was typically, well autumn (obvs!). For me reds and oranges aren’t usually colours that make it in to my wardrobe, Orange maybe, but reds, certainly not. I spent a lot of time in reds and oranges when I had red hair back in 2012 and although it worked back then, it reminds me of a time when things weren’t all that great for me (sitting in the shop, alone waiting for a customer, any customer to come in!). It is just not a pallet that I find works for me, for so many reasons. So I figured, I can’t be the only one that has this problem, so I have set myself the challenge to do Autumn from the pink spectrum and see what I could make work for you for some alternative outfit inspo!

As you know, (if not, before you go on, you can read Mermaid Tales to catch up!) I spent Friday at the Mall Cribbs Cause way with Megan and Lily for Bristol Fashion Week AW14 (You can see the video here) As the weather wasn’t very autumn/wintery, it was too hot to wear any kind of autumn winter trends. Not that I ever conform to any trends, I do pick and chose from what I like (but it is still a bit too warm for that parka jacket yet!).
I am fan of florals all year around, but I am really feeling the dark floral trend, you can see my Dark Floral outfit inspo here. I was rocking my floral skirt that I picked up in the sale from Primark a few weeks back, with a simple mint Tee (also from Primark). I actually would have preferred to team the outfit with a rich purple top of some sort to pick out the rich purple from the skirt, but I just didn’t have anything in my wardrobe that fitted that description so I had to go with mint! I really need to sort my top to skirt ratio!
I teamed all this with my ‘Lisa’ flower crown headband from Crown and Glory, along with my cleated heel boots from River Island. I also knew it was going to be too hot to have my hair down and fussing around my neck all day so I shoved it up in a pony tail and stuck a few curls through the end!
As you know if you read yesterday’s post, I went to see Tim Walker on Friday at the V&A Museum, and so he inspired me to have some more fun with my outfit posts and get a little more creative. So this week I thought I would try some studio style shots for this week’s outfit post, and of course, I had to get the unicorn involved!
A couple of weeks back, I got an email from Barbie’s PR agency asking if I fancied styling up something from their new range at Tesco, I instantly knew it would be such a fun outfit. I wanted to glam it up a bit as this oversized tee is actually from their nightwear range, but who doesn’t love an over sized tee, and I would so wear this out, err nighties are the new dresses doncha know!?
Barbie is so hot right now, she is all over the catwalk, the SS15 Moschino range is my new fav thing! So what more of an excuse do you need to pop down to Tesco and grab yourself one of these tees!?

I am a huge fan of all things floral all year round but I do love this time of year when the dark floral prints start to come in to the shops. I am looking forward to wearing a lot of black, burgundy, golds, deep blues and purple shades this autumn winter. I have already seen lots of items I have been lusting over so here is a round up of the best I have seen online for your outfit inspiration.
