Last night I popped in the car and headed over to Mall Cribbs to meet up with my blogger babes to attend Bristol Fashion Week for the spring catwalk. I was excited to meet up with the girls and also (as a Made in Chelsea fan) to see Lucy Watson host with Mark Heyes.

I love the experience of going to a live catwalk, I used to imagine what it would be like to go to these kinds of fabulous events after watching too much SATC when I was younger. It would be sexy edgy and cool, but I just wasn’t getting the vibes. Maybe it’s just me(?) but I wasn’t really feeling any of the outfits throughout the show. I did see a few pieces from the collection that I liked but I wasn’t really bowled over by the styling. It’s a shame that River Island women’s wear weren’t featuring, I saw some awesome prints in there!

The new seasons main trends that were shown on the catwalk were denim, mono, utility, floral and festival. I like denim, I like floral and I like festival. I like some of the elements but it was all styled a bit safe for me. But then I do like to do things a bit differently, I could definitely take some of these trends and “mermaid” it up a bit.

Having said that, I appreciate the catwalk is for a diverse mix of people and I am probably not their target audience…. I liked all the bright pastel backdrops?! The models all put on a fantastic show though, even if I wasn’t a fan of what they had on (I didn’t hate it, I just couldn’t see me in much of it!) I do wish I could dance like the models, I like that the models don’t just walk up and down conventionally, Bristol Fashion Week put on a great show.
