I love doing these round up posts at this time of year, mostly so that next year I can look back and see how far I have come and how much things have changed. Since this will be my first full year on YouTube, I thought I would just summarise my top 10 you tube videos 2014. Making youtube videos has become my new fav thing, I love it. Not meaning to wish my life away but, I hope when I look back at this post this time next year, I will have my goal subscribers. I would love to get to 10k by 2016! What do you think, can it be done? I have a little over 1000 in a year, so that ten fold to get to my goal. Hopefully the market isn’t too saturated with nearly 30 year old pink hair blogger and entrepreneurs!
If you like my videos, it would be great if you could subscribe and like the videos, if you have any suggestions of videos you would like to see me film, I am always up for a challenge!

I feel like since I launched Mermaid Gossip, I have totally upped my outfit post game. I dabbled with a few outfit posts over on Fishee Designs, but I wasn’t really committed to it on account of still finding myself with blogging. Fishee Designs blog was the wrong place for outfit posts and anything non-photobooth-related, although I couldn’t see that at the time. It only took me a year to realise I needed to give my blog its own space separate from the photo booth. Although I wish I had realised it a lot earlier, it does mean that I had a space to practice my blog game before launching the real thing.
Since I launched mermaid gossip I have been totally committed to doing an outfit post every week on a Tuesday and I have enjoyed looking back at all the outfit posts over the last few months and I have collated my favs below.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you that have supported the launch of my little Mermaid Gossip. It has been such a pleasure to blog almost daily and I can’t wait to up my game further for 2015. I hope you all have a fantastic New Year’s Eve on Thursday, and I’ll see you on the other side!
I wasn’t planning on writing today, I intended to have a full week off. But I sit here with my lemsip (caught my brothers illness), Puggy has his new bone keeping him occupied and Brad has taken Logan to work with him. I looked back through all my photos from our trip last night and I have taken so many, Mermaid Tales seemed like the most natural place to share these with you. So this post comes to you from my onesie relaxing still on the sofa (no change physically from usual but it’s all in the mindset, I’m still mentally on a break!)
I had such a lovely Christmas, it’s my fav time of year because it gets all our family together. As I don’t see much of them the rest of the year, it makes it all the more special for me. Not to mention how spoilt I was this year too, I got some fab presents and I am going to film a ‘What I Got For Christmas’ YouTube video later, once the lemsip has kicked in!
We headed down to Bournemouth on Tuesday (Christmas Eve eve!) and we had to swing by my Grandmas to drop off a piece of furniture and it was late before we got to our home for the weekend so we headed next door to mums for dinner before hitting the hay for the night. On Christmas Eve we met up with friends, Nick and Kat, who live in Bournemouth. We went for a long and blustery walk along Hengistbury Head, it’s my fav place to walk in Bournemouth, I even wrote this poem about it four years ago! We spent Christmas Day at my mums with my family and on Boxing Day we jumped in the car and roadtripped to Somerset to Brads aunty and uncle’s house to spend the day with Brads fam. You can watch out antics from our trip above.
Good Morning lovely! Yay, it’s christmas week, I am so excited to get down to Bournemouth now. This weekend we have really just been getting the house tidy for when we go away (and tidy for when we come back!) and Brad has been doing his last minute present buying. I did plan a nice little last-Saturday-before-Christmas date night, and had planned to go get donuts from the new Krispy Kreme at the Mall (I made a video too!) and then enjoy an ice skating session. Turns out we were too late for the last ice skating session, so instead we spent the evening late night shopping at Cribbs Causeway and Brad managed to pick up some last minute gifts.
I have definitely spent some time chilling out and putting my work down this weekend. It’s hard for me to put my work down, I even work subconsciously when I’m “not” working. None of it ever feels like work until there are deadlines and a never ending to do list, but when you take all the pressure off, work becomes even less work even though it is still work. None the less, it feels like I have been able to step away from my laptop for most of the week and it has been lovely. Funnily enough by taking a step away, I have already conjured up some new ideas that I am planning on working on in the new year.
I have a few things that I still want to tick off the to-do list before Thursday, my last outfit post of the year for tomorrow should be happening tomorrow afternoon. It will be late because there’s a skirt I
want need in my life before I can do it. This skirt, I have featured quite a few times over the last few weeks and now it is in the sale at £17 from £55 and finally I can justify buying it for my Christmas Day outfit which I want to share with you tomorrow (did you see my full inspo post on Saturday if you are still looking for an outfit, Miss Selfridge has some great offers on these skirts!). They only have said skirt in my size in the Bournemouth brnach so I need to pop in on our way down there tomorrow to get it before I can take any photos. Talk about lastminute.com!
Today will be spent getting the house spotless, packing all my potential outfits for Christmas Eve, Day and Boxing Day. I need to send off a few last minute gifts and cards for friends. I may find time to film a Youtube video to edit whilst we are away. I can’t wait to start our get away and see all my family! Yay!
It’s the last Saturday before CHRISTMAS! Excited much!? I know for some of you this may be the last day to get your Christmas shopping on, whether that means last minute Christmas presents, or getting your outfit sorted for Christmas Day. As a family, we all like to get dressed up for the day. I have heard some people use it as an excuse to get in their onesies and be comfy all day, but (on account of the fact I do that every other day!) I think it’s nice to make a special sparkly effort to put on your best glad rags.
I am still yet to sort out my Christmas Day outfit, so I have been browsing the high street stores online to try and find something. Chances are I will probably have spent all my money on presents and will just have to find something in my wardrobe to wear, but a girl can dream! Criteria for my personal christmas day outfit is smart, sparkly, loose, elasticated and comfy – we all gotta eat till we sleep, right!? I will try and look for a nice new skirt that I can team with one of my metallic tops to upgrade an old outfit. I find just buying a new skirt can create a completely new look, and I love a good midi full circle skirt, they hide a multitude of sins.
I thought I would share my perfect Christmas Day outfit for some outfit inspiration if you are still looking!? I think the only thing that would make this festive outfit more special would be for it to actually snow!!
