Happy valentines lovers!! I had so much fun on Thursday night at Charlotte’s Black Heart Creatives jewellery making workshop at The Crazy Fox cafe in Bristol. Myself and eight others congregated in the upstairs of the cute little cafe around a large table and awaited instruction from Charlotte as to what to do to make our valentines inspired acrylic jewellery. Charlotte had prepped earrings and a necklace for us each to make and take away.

I went in all cocky, thinking I knew what I was doing. I used to make jewellery back when I first started out with my business, needless to say there’s a reason that didn’t work out for me! I was the first to finish my earrings, which I love, and feature one pink heart and an arrow on the other side. I went for long dangly ones, and each of us did something a little different and to our own individual tastes. Then came my downfall, Charlotte gave us a suggested way of making the necklaces, which we were given seven varying sized hearts to mix and match. Of course, me being me, decided I wanted to do it differently. Turns out, there is a reason why there’s a right way, and a wrong way because I just couldn’t get my idea to work and I was still trying to finish my necklace (which turned out the way I should have done it in the first place before I got all cocky about it!) when the cafe was closing and we were very politely being thrown out.

Regardless of my inability to play by the rules, Charlotte let us all do our own thing, guiding us throw and helping where needed. Some followed the rules and created lovely necklaces, others did their own (successful) thing, but mostly we all had a lovely time chatting away whilst we got creative. Charlotte will be holding more workshops in Bristol in the future so I recommend going along. Not only do you get to meet some new peeps, but you get to take away a couple of pieces of custom jewellery and a voucher for 20% off your next purchase. It’s a win win really! Thanks for having us Charlotte xx

Emily
